Council on American-Islamic Relations asks Ben Carson to withdraw from race

I refer to those Republican wits who unconscionably demonize a swath of Americans based on their religious views. It was all rather bloody, as history recalls.

And yet, we do test – again and again – in subtle and not-so-subtle ways.

Carson has expressed that his comments were taken out of context and insists that he does not care what faith an individual is as long as candidates put the constitution ahead of their faith. The simple answer, the correct one, would have been to cite the Constitution, punctuated with a dazzling, gotcha-back smile. “But until these tenants are fully renounced…I cannot advocate any Muslim candidate for President….I also can’t advocate supporting Hillary Clinton either by the way”.

Of the 31 nations that are more than 90 percent Muslim, how many are rated free? Two.

Of course, other people have self-interests, too. Its unimaginable that the leading GOP presidential candidates are resorting to fear mongering to benefit their campaigns, and every American should be disturbed that these national figures are engaging in and tolerating blatant acts of religious liberty.

They rate according to civil liberties and political rights. In 2008 when John McCain was confronted by a woman insisting that then-candidate Barack Obama was really an “Arab”, McCain stopped her, saying that Obama is a “decent family man citizen”. To that, Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim in Congress, who is also African American, responded by issuing a statement saying, “The freedom of religion is a founding principle of our nation”.

Here, then, are seven questions you will never hear the press ask a liberal.

Did our founders know something we have forgotten?

Biden’s remark was intended to compliment Obama, but it was hardly flattering to African-Americans in the main. However, Trump said while there “have been difficulties” with Islamic extremism, he would have no problem with a Muslim president.

“We have a problem in this country, it´s called Muslims”. “It’s a problem in this country, it’s a problem throughout this world… You don’t know that he was a bigot”, Trump said.

While Williams said Carson was not criticizing peaceful Muslims living in the USA , he added that a few Muslims here-“if you speak to them deep enough”-are “sympathetic” to terrorists, “which is very scary and very frightening to many people, and no one wants to talk about it”.

Such incoherence deserves only a mute button.

When asked by Todd how he would react if a Muslim becomes US President, Trump replied, “Would I be comfortable?” Governors must work with the legislature and the other party to get things done, and voters have tended to understand and appreciate the importance of such experience. Detention centers?

Even in this scenario, it was still Trump who took the questioner seriously.

Trump and Carson both missed a chance to be awesome.

“Sir, we are a pluralistic society of many races, ethnicities and creeds”. Islam. Not radical Islam, not extremist.
