Her visit was to meet with prisoners who have overcome addiction and are turning their lives around.
The tailored pale grey dress, called “The Eaton”, features long sleeves, a V-neckline, a peplum bodice and a pencil skirt. She accessorized the stylish ensemble with a grey envelope clutch bag, and added a pair of matching high heels to complete her outfit.
The Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust operates in 26 jails across the country but the programme at Send is the only 12-step prison-based drug and alcohol project for women.
The charity is aimed at helping imprisoned pensioners who are addicted to drugs and alcohol.
“I was reminded today how addictions lie at the heart of so many social issues“, she said.
The women at the prison did not know who their visitor would be until half an hour before she arrived.
The visit reflects Kate’s interest in learning how organisations support people living with substance misuse issues, and the impact of addiction within their families.
As well as meeting current prisoners, she met ex-prisoners who told her how the RAPt programme had helped them turn their lives around and stay crime and drug-free after their release.
While Kate opted to rock the dress for the outing, it is an wonderful look for the office that you can easily take from desk-to-dinner.
Dressed in a smart blue coat, Kate was remarkably animated as she watched the quadrennial tournament’s opening game.
She looked visibly moved when former inmate, Kirsty, 36, told her how as the daughter of addicts she first became aware of drugs.
She later broke into a smile and applauded enthusiastically as England’s Mike Brown scored the team’s first try at Twickenham Stadium in London.
