Ben Carson Would Not Support a Muslim as President

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said that he loved Muslims and that he would contemplate using a Muslim in his Cabinet.

“We do have a problem with radical Muslims, there’s no question about that”, Trump said Sunday.

On NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday, Trump was asked whether he’d accept a Muslim president, and replied: “Some people have said it already happened”. “Oh, absolutely”, Trump responded.

Ted Cruz and Rick Satorum refused to criticize Trump and also kept their silence when asked if they believe if President Obama is a Christian.

“Carson, who has been near the top of several presidential polls, said he would consider voting for a Muslim in Congress “[depending] on who that Muslim is and what their policies are”. “I do not think therefore!”

“Well, I feel strongly that Muslims are excellent. But we certainly do have a problem”.

“You let that pass”, he told Trump.

Trump’s campaign manager initially claimed he had failed to correct the questioner as he had trouble hearing in the packed room, but the former reality television star finally addressed the controversy with a series of tweets on 19 September.

But he said he understood the rise of anti-Islamic sentiment because “we were attacked by people who were all Muslim”. The man then displayed high Islamophobia by adding: “We have a problem. They didn’t knock down the World Trade Center”, Trump told 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley.

More than perhaps any single individual, Trump is responsible for planting doubts about Obama’s birthplace and his religion. Asked if he considered Islam to be consistent, he said: “No, I do not”.

“For a long, long time in the history of America, there were people who would say, ‘you know, we don’t want a Catholic to be president of the United States.’ And then John F. Kennedy became president in 1960″, Sanders said.

“Well, you know, I don’t get into it, George”. I don’t talk about it. But I don’t talk other people’s faith.
