Hart, Christie among Trevor Noah’s first ‘Daily Show’ guests
Ready for Trevor Noah’s Daily Show debut?
It’s a nice eclectic mix of culturally relevant and potentially thought-provoking, and I’m especially curious to see Noah’s demeanor during the interview with Christie.
This is the first applause I’ve heard. Some critics weighing in deemed the tweets problematic, while others simply said they weren’t amusing.
Not that they’re pleading to be there anyway.
Of course Noah had, but there was little to be discussed that he did not find trivial, to say the least.
Noah will be facing a challenge to restore The Daily Show to popularity following Stewart’s retirement.
If you ask me, there was a bit more to the debate than that, but you didn’t, so act like I didn’t say anything.
Noah, 31, said his mother is a big source of his humour.
“Jon is like a Jewish Yoda”, the South African comic said.
“He’s a student of our culture, as well as of the world, and, working with the deep team that writes for the show, he will have no trouble pointing out the absurdities of our political system”, she added.
Trevor Noah’s first guest on his “Daily Show” will be comedian Kevin Hart, to be followed the next night by New Jersey Governor and current GOP presidential hopeful Chris Christie. Jon was The Daily Show host from 1996 until 2015.
Yet, despite being the star of a network sitcom, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, and hosting an award show on that same network, Mr. Samberg’s bits all pointed toward a new reality.
A lot of people come up to me, and it’s interesting.
“Thank you HBO for believing in dragons”, co-creator David Benioff said.
‘Can never escape offending a human being’.
“It just gives me a different perspective. So, you know, obviously that was something I did when I was really young and stupid…” “But you can never escape offending a human being”. “So what we’re doing is dividing the first week into a four-part miniseries that will set the tone for what we hope the show will be”. Then again, it would unfair to compare the new host to his predecessor since he hasn’t even started yet.
The best advice he’s received ahead of Monday came from the very man he’s replacing. “The foundation that Jon has given us as writers and producers is going to make it incredible”.
