Obama, Modi discuss climate change in meeting at UN
Modi will end his tour with an event at the San Jose Convention Center that more than 18,000 people are expected to attend.
But during the recent Townhall Q&A session at the Facebook headquarters in New York, Narendra Modi took his love for the camera at a completely different level.
Mr Modi added that the two sides had set “ambitious national agendas” to tackle climate change.
“President (Obama) and I share an uncompromising commitment on climate change, without affecting our ability to meet the development aspirations of humanity”, he said.
The audience reacts to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech.
“We should work together to advance that goal”. Modi and Musk also discussed the possibility of a more affordable vehicle from the company and how batteries and solar panels can be used for the future electric generation in the rural areas of the country.
“I shared my thoughts on key global issues at the @ United Nations and also met many more leaders to strengthen India’s ties with the global community”, the Prime Minister tweeted. “There was discussion that now that the inter-governmental negotiations process is going to start on the basis of a text, how India and U.S. can collaborate on that front”, Swarup told reporters at a news conference here.
And that encompasses everything from scientific exchanges and educational exchanges, to security cooperation and defence procurement.
“We hope your visit will energise people in the Valley, excite Indians all across the country, and renew and strengthen our partnership”, he said.
With Modi spending time in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Times said his visit “was a contrast to the command performance that China’s leader, Xi Jinping, had technology chief executives put on for him last week”.
It also comes days after the first India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue in Washington that set the stage for Monday’s summit with a series of accords including a declaration acknowledging the threat from Pakistan-based terror outfits.
“If you look at tourism for example, India has tremendous potential”.
