Apple Offers First Public Beta of iOS 9
Another way in which iOS 9 handles Folders differently is by showing more apps per row on devices with larger displays, like the iPad and iPad mini. Gone are the days when switching between apps required double pressing the Home button and flipping through your apps.
Apple advises beta testors to back up the content on their phones to iTunes before installing the beta software.
The new feature was found in the latest release of the iOS 9 beta, which was just sent out to public.
Going by the indications from the public beta release of iOS 9, the updates which Apple has introduced in the new iOS version are not merely limited to icon designs and color schemes.
The most notable changes seen on the last developer build of iOS 9 was the News app, tweaks in Apple Music and an entirely redesigned two-factor authentication system. However, with iOS 9, at least one of the two complaints has been addressed.
A “Nearby” feature will show businesses and landmarks around you. For instance, if you wanted to look up a book you were reading but couldn’t remember which app it was in, search intelligence has you covered.
Whenever you have opened an app using the slide over feature, you will also be able to move the divider between both apps all the way to the middle of the screen.
Notes, the much-used, little-loved ever-present of Apple’s past iOS offerings has been transformed with iOS 9, moving to become an integral part of your device experience. Customers, who want to test the OS X El Capitan software will have to undergo the same steps in order to get access to the trial version.

Additionally 9to5Mac reports that the iOS 9 beta 3 which was released to developers has a separate album for Selfies and that Siri does not make the usual “Ding” sound when activated.
Siri will also know to pull up music when headphones are plugged in or start an audio book a user has been listening to when they’re in their auto, among a slew of other context-based features.
In iOS 9, users also get a more improved and colourful version of Siri. There’s also a new Picture-in-Picture which will let users continue watching a video while using any other app.
