United Nations adopt 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Kenya co-chaired the inter-governmental process that led to the formulation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The 193 member countries of the United Nations have unanimously adopted a landmark set of development goals that are meant to galvanise and guide the world’s efforts to eradicate poverty, end hunger and address climate change by 2030.
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly Summit to Adopt Post-2015 Development Agenda, he said: “We are relieved that the agenda is in line with economic, social and environmental dimensions of our National Vision 2030, which includes the basic pillars of sustainable development, particularly security, health, education, culture, and sports”.
