Oops: Microsoft lists its new Windows 10-powered Lumia phones online
Over 14 million people have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Windows 10 OS in just 24 hours of its release, and over 400 million people are expected to have downloaded it by now.
As for the leaked specifications, which have been reiterated by multiple sources over the past few months, the Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch QHD display and is powered by Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and a 3,000mAH battery.
These specifications were not yet confirmed by Microsoft but it is believed that the predicted specs will somehow match the official ones that will be revealed when the Lumia 950 and 950 XL are launched this fall.
The Lumia 950XL on the other hand will be a larger device, with a 5.7-inch display running at the same resolution. This time, it is all about the Lumia 950 XL, which flaunts its front and back in a press render posted on Twitter by leakster Evan Blass.
What do you guys think of the upcoming Lumia flagship smartphones? Selecting either doesn’t take users to a page full of all of their features. Both the device will come with 20-megapixel camera with Zeiss optics and 32GB storage further expandable up to 2TB.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 is not too different from the Lumia 950 XL, but the two flagships are going to target different audiences. To ensure Microsoft does not get to know much about your personal things and habits, choose custom install instead of the express install option.
Until now, Microsoft has been posting about its devices on the Windows Blog, and also maintained separate blogs for Lumia smartphones and the Surface. In the rush to push software to users, tech companies like Microsoft ignore or dismiss the need to keep users informed.
KitGuru Says: Microsoft’s new Lumia devices are expected to be quite powerful, making for a truly capable Windows phone.
What this means is that Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 will also be present, assuming a compatible charger is bundled with the retail packaging.
Most of these concerns have arisen in response to the telemetry feature enabled by default in Windows 10, which collects information ranging from security settings to the frequency and manner in which applications are used.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have iris scanners that let users log in without having to enter a passcode.
