Windows 10-On-Xbox One With 360 Compatibility Arrives November, DVR Features
During its Xbox Gamescom press conference, Microsoft revealed that TV DVR support is coming to the Xbox One next year.
The Xbox One and Windows fighting game will be getting a third season, launching in March of 2016.
Halo Wars 2 – a sequel to the strategy game released on Xbox 360 in 2009 – marks the first time a major Halo game will arrive on PC in more than ten years. For example, you can record the latest episode of “Game of Thrones” to your Xbox and then stream it to your Windows 10 PC or tablet later.
“‘Quantum Break’ is not just a game alone, as it will be accompanied by a live-action TV show”, GameSpot revealed.
However, unlike those other consoles, the $500 Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One will come with a handful of extras on top of the uniquely skinned console and controller.
You can access all your Xbox One menus and basically operate any Xbox One features on your Windows 10 device. Now it appears we know what game that will be. That changed last year with the introduction of a free-to-air TV adapter, and now it’s taken another step forward at Gamescom 2015, as Microsoft has announced a new DVR feature for the console.
Other than that, over 30 independent games will be added to Windows 10, along with new titles such as “Bloodstained“, “Sheltered, Ark: Survival Evolved“, “Worms WMD“, “Thimbleweed Park”, “Train Simulator” and “We Happy Few“.
The DVR functionality will be integrated with the Xbox One’s OneGuide menu, which is where scheduled recordings can be set up. As noted, however, this will only work over OTA TV solutions like that Hauppauge tuner or the Xbox-branded version Microsoft offers in Europe and Australia.
Thomas Puha, the head of PR for the developer of the game, teased fans that “Quantum Break” is something to watch out for and the upcoming game will surprise players.
Between Halo Wars 2, Halo 5’s eSports features and the HWC’s big prize pool, one might think that was all the Halo goodness Microsoft had to share. You can check them both out below.
