Attackers from Nigeria kill 9, kidnap dozens from Cameroon
Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for a number of deadly shooting attacks, bombings, and kidnappings in Nigeria since the beginning of its militancy in 2009.

Benin’s daily electricity needs are estimated at 240 megawatts, according to the country’s Energy Ministry, although domestic production – under normal circumstances – generally stands at only 100 megawatts.
A local government and a military source told Reuters that the attackers returned to Nigeria after their operation. Before the latest hostage release, the terror group killed 13 people in an assault in the Nigerian village of Malari. In June, an Amnesty worldwide report said more than 8,000 people died while being detained by the armed forces.

Boko Haram has pledged allegiance to Islamic State, since it began to overcome and control territory in Borno State in Nigeria previous year.
“They burnt down houses and shops before they left“.
Bakary said soldiers confirmed an attack and authorities were investigating.
Niger’s President Mahamadou Issoufou on Sunday vowed that the new regional force would “eradicate” the insurgents.
This is not the first time the militant fighters have kidnapped local residents. In 2009, the group carried out a series of attacks on official buildings in Maiduguri.
