How to watch Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 Xbox conference
Xbox One Backwards Compatibility will be available to all members in November 2015.
Just a couple of days ago, Windows 10 was launched for the PC and the rollout is underway. Microsoft released a digital TV tuner for Xbox One in North America this past spring; a similar device had been available in Europe since last fall.
Xbox is launching Rare Replay this month, kicking off its 2015 games line-up, which the company says is the greatest in its history. Heading to Xbox One in October, Cobalt looks like what you would get if a lighthearted 2D shooter got together with the slow-motion shootouts from the Matrix and had a baby.
The event also announced the development of a long requested game, Halo Wars 2. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer teased that the game will be pushing through with their release date for Xbox One! The game promises enormous dragons and… well, that’s about it so far. This will bring a lot of new capabilities to the Xbox One, but the most obvious will be the new user interface. In fact, this might be the first Xbox presentation to actually make me consider buying an Xbox One – particularly when they update to Windows 10.
With the upcoming launch of the “Halo 5: Guardians” game, Microsoft is apparently aiming at the world of e-sports – that is, the competitive video game arena – especially since e-sports underscore an effective way of expanding the reach of a game to a highly dedicated group of gamers.
Crackdown 3, the latest installment of an Xbox-exclusive game, will now be set in a new city creating a brand new story arc and new destructible environment to wreak havoc on.
