Plane headed for Cincy catches fire in Nashville
An engine of a passenger plane bound for Cincinnati caught fire while taxiing for takeoff in Nashville on Friday morning.
A blaze that erupted from a plane’s engine at the Nashville global Airport went out quickly after the power was cut.
A Delta flight headed to Cincinnati never made it off the ground this morning in Nashville. “When the pilot turned off the engine, the fire extinguished itself”.
According to Sumrall, the fired died out when the plane was turned off.
The plane was towed back to the gate and all passengers were booked on alternative flights.
He also shared a photo showing the flames via Twitter. The ball of fire lasted for several seconds.
“No one heard anything”, passenger Phil Cobucci told the newspaper. “The plane really just stopped in the middle of the tarmac”, Cobucci says. “You don’t often see fires on planes”.
