Arsenal’s Martinez joins Wolves on loan
The club’s official Twitter account has carried the story as well, along with the claim that “hopefully” the deal will be completed on 10th August.
Martinez, 22, has made eight appearances for Arsenal, including four in the Premier League.
The young Argentine goal keeper wasn’t expected to feature in the Arsenal first team this season, following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea, and David Ospina serving as the club’s second choice.
In October of 2013, Martinez was sent out an emergency loan again, this time to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and, after an impressive run of performances, Martinez’s loan with the Championship team was extended to the end of the season.
The goalkeeper will come in as back-up for Carl Ikeme but Kenny Jackett has confirmed he is set to start the Capital One Cup tie.
Newport-born Evans, who left County for Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2013, has fallen down the pecking order at Molineux over the last six months and was not in the squad for Saturday’s controversial 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.
The move will further cement the relationship between the two clubs, with Jackett enjoying the qualities of Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe on a similar deal last season.
