Surveillance video shows suspect in Ferguson shooting with gun, police say
McGuire says several bottles, frozen water bottles and rocks were thrown at officers throughout the night. “We’re going to see what happens tonight, see how things go”.
The crowd marched, chanted and at times confronted police. Three officers were injured. Officers lined several blocks of West Florissant.
For the second continuous night, black lives matter protesters flooded the streets in protest of perceived racial injustice and police abuse.
While Oath Keepers claims to protect reporters and property owners, the are actually instigating an already-tense situation in Ferguson.
Still though, more than 20 people were arrested.
Tensions increased after darkness fell on Monday, with some demonstrators throwing objects at officers who pushed back with shields and threatened arrests.
Reaction from protesters was mixed.
Police said Tyrone Harris, 18, unleashed a “remarkable amount of gunfire,”shooting an unmarked police auto while officers sat at inside”. “They put the response in Belmar’s hands”.

The official Twitter page for St. Louis County police stated the woman’s ID said she was 18. They always dig into their past to try and assassinate their character and just like they tried to do with Mike Brown Jr., Antonio Martin and Vonderrit Myers Jr. and others, remember all of us have a past that’s not so attractive and it should not cancel a person’s future. “It’s always St. Louis County pushing us around and making up rules”.
But Ferguson’s mayor, James W. Knowles III, urged caution when deciding whether to lift the emergency. It simply marked a change in tactic, he said. Relatives said they do not believe Harris was armed, though they acknowledged that he faced felony charges last year that involved a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle. He said members plan to remain in Ferguson “at least through the end of the week”. The “Moral Monday” demonstrations had long been planned as part of the anniversary.
Last November, when violent riots erupted after the announcement of a non-indictment against the officer who fatally shot Brown, Ban appealed for protesters to express their grievances peacefully.
Steve Stenger, the St. Louis county executive, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the state of emergency giving county police control over policing in Ferguson could be lifted Wednesday.
More than 100 people were arrested as the protests – tied to the year-ago shooting of Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer – drew activists from across the country.
At one point, the group began marching aggressively toward police. They also appeared at the protest there a night earlier.
“What did I do?”
“The rules don’t apply to everyone”, she said.
On Monday, the police presence was far greater.

Brown’s death and similar police killings that followed in Baltimore; North Charleston, South Carolina; Cincinnati; and Arlington, Texas, sparked a year of protests and debate across the United States about race, justice and law enforcement’s use of force.
Police Chief Jon Belmar tried to de-escalate the tension by speaking with some demonstrators, who then moved from the street to the sidewalks.
