‘Changed’ Justin Bieber attends Sydney church conference
Justin was reported to be accompanied by Hailey Baldwin, the 18-year-old daughter of outspoken born-again Christian and actor Stephen Baldwin when he arrived in Sydney.
Hillsong Church is a Christian movement that in fewer than 20 years has grown from humble beginnings in Sydney to a multi-million dollar global phenomenon whose services attract rock concert-sized crowds every week.
Justin Bieber has thanked a Pentecostal pastor for turning his life around as he attended a five-day church conference in Sydney, Australia.
Ruth Geck, of Seventeen Seventy, is at the annual Hillsong music conference with family and friends. Because of its growing popularity, the church now has reached parts of Europe, the USA, and Latin America. And now, he wants to rebrand his image for the good by asking help from other celebrities, being more sensible at shows, and by becoming “more religious“.
In a statement released last night, Hillsong criticized the “A Current Affair” story and its reporters, saying, “They [A Current Affair] have also been outside our conference today harassing minors in an unethical manner”. Levin’s spat with Hillsong Church has been ongoing for ten years – in 2005, the 43-year-old was banned from attending Hillsong events or setting foot on the Church’s premises, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
“We don’t make a big deal [out of celebrities]”. He’s trying to figure this out”, he said and added, “With Justin, it’s not my job to be his police officer.
Hillsong senior pastor Brian Houston said Bieber, 21, had paid his own way to Australia. It’s because just several days ago, the pop icon was again caught in another issue when he and Hillsong pastor Joel Houston were spotted leaving a nightclub in Hollywood.
“He is not participating in the conference in any other capacity”. This observation was seconded by fans and people who observed his acts at the venue.
