Donald Trump announces plan for immigration issue
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stepped off the campaign trail Monday morning to report to jury duty in New York City, attracting a few fist-pumping fans on the courthouse stairs. This past weekend, he campaigned in Iowa, offering children gathered near the state fair rides in his helicopter.
Michael Cohen, a Trump Organization executive said that the summonses had been sent to an address at which Mr Trump had never lived, and that the fine had since been waved.
Trump has drawn fire during his campaign for saying that “rapists” and “killers” are entering the U.S. illegally from Mexico.
Over the years, many celebrities, including Madonna, Spike Lee and Woody Allen, have been called for jury duty in New York. “Crucially, this plan includes an emphasis on lifting struggling minority communities, including our immigrant communities, out of poverty – by preventing corporations from bringing in new workers from overseas to replace them and drive down wages”, said Sessions in a statement.
“We have to keep the families together”, he said of the people in the country illegally, “but they have to go”. “Nobody knows what happened to the document”. A 2013 Gallup survey found that Americans – especially Republicans – do support measures such as tightening border security (Trump also wants to build a wall somehow paid for by Mexico) and requiring U.S. business owners to check a person’s immigration status before hiring him/her (Trump wants to implement a national e-verify system).
Before unveiling his immigration reform plan, the 69-year-old billionaire warned in an interview with NBC that if elected president he would deport all illegal immigrants from the country. “Make Mexico pay for the wall” is the first. First, he would triple the number of ICE officers and pay for it by eliminating tax credit payments to illegal immigrants. “The good people can come back”.
Trump: “I would like to do whatever is good for the District of Columbia because I love the people”.
In true Donald Trump fashion, he unveiled details of his plan to secure the US border and deal with the immigration issue. Obama’s November 2014 actions were halted by temporary injunctions ordered by several federal courts in rulings challenging his executive powers to alter immigration policies without Congressional approval.
Then during a break, a special response team of court officers – deployed for high-profile cases – blocked off a hallway where Trump stopped with his bodyguard to conduct calls on his cellphone.
“Now, we don’t need the oil so much“, he said in an apparent reference to US oil and gas production.
That such principles are so controversial is a mark of how dire our predicament really is, and the weakness of other GOP candidates in espousing them has left an opening for Trump.
