Former Senator Publishes Endorsement to Clinton on Web
Clinton ordered her campaign to turn the server and thumb drive over to the Justice Department amid a federal investigation into the security of the server and whether there was classified information in the emails from the private account she used while serving as secretary of state. Clinton did not send the classified emails herself, according to the AP’s sources in the intelligence community.
After acquiring the server on Wednesday, agents are attempting to determine whether emails may have been backed up on another machine, said the official, who asked for anonymity. While a secret program, it is well-known and often reported on. “That’s typically what the Clintons do, they only release what they have to release, they take a long time to do it, and they elongate scandals as a result”, he said.
Left unclear was what, if any, special precautions were taken since May 22, when intelligence officials first declared one or more of Clinton’s emails to be classified, to ensure the data was secure. Some said it improperly points back to highly classified material, while others countered that it was a classic case of what the government calls “parallel reporting” – different people knowing the same thing through different means.
The Associated Press reports the information contained in the two sensitive emails originated with the Central Intelligence Agency. The State Department disputes that the emails were classified at that time.
“A celebrity endorsement is not going to persuade you to vote for a person but a celebrity endorsement will make it so that it’s cool to tell people you’re voting for somebody”, Sam Popkin, a political science professor who specializes in voter behavior, told CNN.”They make it cool to be for Hillary Clinton and not something to keep to yourself”. That is why today I am proud to endorse my longtime friend and colleague, Hillary Clinton, in her candidacy for president of the United States.
“Most of us – 70% of us are making the same or less than we were ten or 12 years ago”, says O’Malley. She said at a news conference in March that she simultaneously deleted more than 31,000 of personal emails.
The State Department advised employees not to use personal email accounts for work, but it wasn’t prohibited.
Though this controversy has been fuel for the House Benghazi Committee, whose members are interested in how Clinton’s email choices affected the 2012 terrorist attack on a diplomatic compound and its aftermath the truth is that it’s been driven by the Republican’s as a deflection from the lack of Republican candidates seeking the 2016 presidential nomination (actually it’s a deflection from the ill prepared GOP candidates).
Sanders, meanwhile, is attracting huge crowds on the West Coast – much larger than Clinton’s or any Republican’s – with some 27,000 cheering him on in Los Angeles.
So far, Clinton’s camp has handed in thousands of emails for review. Clinton’s claim that nothing she sent or received was classified at the time could completely destroy her credibility if the statement is proven wrong. Later, Abedin wrote: “He can talk now”.
For hip-hop fans, a Clinton reference is not news because the former First Lady has been mentioned in rap lyrics for decades. We’ll review it tonight and tomorrow morning, will consult with the Pals (Palestinians) through our Consul General, and then I’ll talk with Gen. S again.
