Protesters demonstrate at St. Paul Planned Parenthood
Lisa Elliott says she made the hard choice to have an abortion, and says each women’s decision is unique. Most of our health centers are located in rural or underserved areas, meaning that for many of our patients, Planned Parenthood will be the only provider they see all year along.
Protests at Planned Parenthood clinics Saturday highlighted people’s outrage over recent controversial videos. But the end to federal funding for Planned Parenthood will affect a lot of patients, especially with lower income.
One of the goals of the protest is to stop paying the organization with taxpayer money.
“I would like to see it done away with…” “I just heard about it on Wednesday, but I tried to talk to my friends and get it out there on Facebook so we could try to get a good turnout here”. “Those are very powerful”, protest organizer Bob Dunn said of videos showing workers handling aborted fetus tissue and negotiating the sale of tissue to activists posing as employees for a medical research company.
“A well funded group established for the objective of damaging Planned Parenthood’s mission and services has promoted a heavily edited, secretly recorded videotape that falsely portrays Planned Parenthood’s participation in tissue donation programs that support lifesaving scientific research”.
This morning dozens gathered on the corner of 17th Street to peacefully protest the Wilmington Planned Parenthood facility. These are children who are being murdered in our city and we need to stand up and say, “This is unacceptable”.
Pastor Steven Brody rallied with people in the Dallas area Saturday afternoon to speak out against Planned Parenthood, especially in black communities.
“Even if you don’t agree with abortion, tax payer funding for something that people find objectionable is wrong”. “PP cuts open babies heads with heart beating”, one said.
“These protests are organized by individuals who oppose women’s access to essential reproductive care from the health care professions who work at Planned Parenthood“.
“We care about women’s health“, Cera McCarragher told about 100 protesters outside a facility in Lafayette, The Journal & Courier reported.
