Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Design Flaw Leaves Pens Sticky
The new Galaxy Note 5 allows for the stylus to be put into the slot either way, but doing so could cause it to get stuck.
It is a fact that the iPhone 6 Plus is expected to be out soon but one can not overlook the fact that Samsung may have something worthy to check out with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The large screen Note series comes with a stylus that helps users take notes or draw pictures more precisely than with their fingertips. The Korean giant applied the same design recipe it used successfully on the Galaxy S6 to create its best phablet so far. The problem is that if you do succeed, there’s a very real possibility you’ll break whatever mechanism the device uses to detect whether the pen is attached or detached from the phone.
The problem is, you can also insert the stylus all the way into the slot backwards.
“Pen detection on our review unit is completely broken”, according to Android Police’s David Ruddock. A uniform symmetry and no physical resistance mean at least some users will insert the stylus blunt-end first by accident. Both devices went on sale last week and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has quickly become one of the top options for those looking to buy a high-end, big screen smartphone.
Ars Technica said that it couldn’t “see any way Samsung can sell the Galaxy Note 5 like this”.
Android Police believes the S Pen design is a major flaw that could permanently break some features on the phone.
Samsung wants to attract iPhone users with a new scheme that will let users try out their devices, including the newly-announced Galaxy S6 Edge+ (pictured below) and Galaxy Note 5 before buying.
Samsung has yet to comment on the situation, but we hope that the company will soon acknowledge the issue and offer some solutions, in case such damage occurs.
