One of the most expected tech events of this month is finally consumed and we now have all the details about South Korean manufacturer’s Samsung latest smartphones: Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+. Users will however note that the camera has remained the same on the newer phone, still a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front like the S6 Edge.
The battery on the new Note 5 is smaller to the Note 4’s at 3,000 mAh, but the device now features wireless and quick charging support. The Galaxy Note 5 simply feels familiar. We were highly anticipating a 128GB variant but there was no mention of it at the Galaxy Note 5 unpacking event yesterday but it seems likely that the model will be announced later this year.
Samsung is trying to regain lost ground against Apple by revealing two new phones it thinks can take on the industry leader. This is a cut above the S6 Edge’s 5.1-inch screen.
The Galaxy 6 Edge+ is an update on the Galaxy 6 and is thinner, faster and flashier than its predecessor boasting a width of just 7mm. Both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy edge+ will be available globally starting from August 2015 in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium with storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB. Both the phones have an impressive super AMOLED screen with 518 pixels per inch.
