Watch A Young Angelina Jolie Master A ‘Girl, Interrupted’-Esque Scene In

Jolie can be seen starring opposite her husband, Brad Pitt, in her latest project, “By The Sea“, which will hit theaters on November. 13.

But this recently unearthed video from an early acting class reminds us that everyone has to start somewhere! “I want to hurt you”, she wails.

In the first clip, Jolie looks manic and screams at her co-star. You know, I’m gonna e-mail Ellen, she decides, what do I have to lose? At one point in the footage, she accidentally breaks character by smiling. At times she seems awkward and uncomfortable with herself.

At times she nearly overdoes it with the acting, but it’s clear that the talent is still there.

“I thought your eyes were wonderful”. Something was really connected.

“I wish I had one real thing in my life, too, but I don’t”, Jolie tells the woman with a maniacal smile.

In recent years, there have been rumors that the Unbroken director plans to retire from the business, particularly after she admitted in 2011 interview that she has lost some of her passion for acting. If you can stomach the shaky handheld cam (oh the ’90s) and the super close-ups, you’ll see why she won the Oscar in 1999 for Girl Interrupted. “You found the humor and you found that and you took the scene in different directions”, the coach added.
