Arsenal captain Arteta extends Gunners contract
Doubts had arisen over Arteta’s future as his old contract was left to expire and Arsene Wenger was supposedly close to bringing in Chilean Copa America victor Arturo Vidal.

Arsenal are said to have dropped their interest in Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who set to join Manchester United. Games against the top four can often be the deciding factor in league positions and at the very least inspire impressive win streaks or help gain momentum.
The 33-year-old is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world and his experience will be vital for Arsenal as they look to end their long Premier League drought.
Although Petr Cech is the only completed transfer to date, more are expected before the season starts and Arsenal are continuing to target some really exciting players. There is competition for places, which is always healthy and pleasing to the manager.
