A ‘miracle’ if Hillary continues her run

He plans to visit the famed butter cow, but the Des Moines Register’s political soapbox isn’t on his itinerary.

Trump, the brash, provocative real estate mogul and television personality who has rocketed to the top of the Republican polls, was making his entrance at the Iowa state fairgrounds outside Des Moines.

Clinton referred to Trump on Friday evening as the “flamboyant front-runner” in the Republican race. And as she tries to calibrate her strategy to campaigning throughout a main with a restive, liberal citizens whereas presenting herself as a practical chief with an eye fixed to the overall election, Clinton gained reward from each progressive teams and a centrist Democratic assume tank which were at odds at occasions.

She took fewer risks on Saturday.

Trump has come under fire since he kicked off his campaign in mid-June, calling for a wall at the southern U.S. border and a crackdown on undocumented immigrants.

All of the forces that have unexpectedly made this presidential contest epically memorable, and often entertaining, were expected to collide at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday.

Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, agreed this week to turn over to the FBI the private server she used as secretary of state.

Moments after she was whisked away, lemonade in hand, by the Secret Service, Trump touched down in in a nearby parking lot. He said he was rejecting campaign contributions and was prepared to spend up to $1 billion on his campaign. But it was Trump who sent ripples of excitement through the crowds that meandered through the fair, sampling turkey legs, bacon-wrapped ribs and red velvet funnel cake, dusted with powdered sugar. Don’t order the corn dog – and if you do, don’t jam it straight into your mouth.

Clinton supporters arrived early, pasted her stickers in the front row of the ballroom, and made their case. She warned, quote, “you might hear some news over the next few days about Hillary Clinton’s emails”. “I want to compete with the rest of the world”.

But even if the emails highlighted by the intelligence community prove innocuous, Clinton will still face questions about whether she set up the private server with the aim of avoiding scrutiny, whether emails she deleted because she said they were personal were actually work-related, and whether she appropriately shielded such emails from possible foreign spies and hackers. Talking to reporters, Trump slammed several other candidates, taking a shot at Jeb Bush over recent comments on Iraq about having “skin in the game”.

Trump did not elaborate on how he would define “good people“. People chased him on foot cheering. “Trump will do that”. She also mingled with state fair attendees as she walked with Iowa U.S. Sen.

“My biggest problem could be his age, but he’s spry, and thinks clearly”, said Deb Dunn, a Mason City event coordinator.

“You may have seen that I recently launched a Snapchat account”, she said at a Democratic fundraiser in Iowa.

She defended her joke on Saturday during her press conference, describing the controversy as just another example of the “partisanization” of politics.

Trump also said that, so far, he has not made any political missteps. Both dined on pork chop, on a stick. “If people are dumb enough to believe everything a candidate says, they’re going to get what they deserve”. We get nothing. Why?

Trump has drawn enthusiastic response for promising to be a smart president who makes great deals.

“This was a voluntary turnover, and it was done without subpoena”, said attorney Barbara Wells, adding that she had been told that the company was not under investigation.
