Amazon Introduces New 7-Inch Fire Tablet for Just $50!
A set of hardware specs for the new tablet have appeared in a benchmark database and they show exactly how Amazon knocked $49 off the price of entry to the Kindle Fire party. The super affordable slate will be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8127 Cortex-A7 processor paired with a Mali 450 GPU for graphics and 1GB of RAM. You can buy a six-pack of Amazon Fire tablets for $250… The high-speed budget tablet comes into varieties – eight- and 10.1 inches, both screens falling comfortably into the HD range.
“The 8” tablet offers over a million pixels, with 189 ppi and a 1280 x 800 resolution. The device will also sport a quad-core ARM Mali 450 graphics processing unit. The battery promises 8 hours of regular use. Amazon’s Kindle eReader model is available for $79 and its new Kindle Fire tablet will be even cheaper at $50. You can add a MicroSD card for up to 128 GB of additional storage. But it must be underscored that, while the company could lose money selling the Fire, it stands to reap a profit as the device serves as a platform for Amazon’s e-commerce business, noted Gizmodo. The black version will be up for grabs from September 30 and if you want a white one you’ll have to wait until October 30. “The HD 10 with the 10.1” display is $229.99. That’s where the updated Fire Kids Edition tablet comes in.
“The tablet features a 7” display and 8GB of internal memory, expandable by 128GB via a MicroSD slot, as well as infinitely into the cloud service provided for free to all customers.
The best part? They come available in packs of six.
Amazon just took the wraps under the latest Fire TV, and just like the leak stated, it sports 4K video and improved voice search thanks to integrated Alexa support. With the $50 Fire, Amazon is banking on entertainment users to drive sales.
A week after Apple introduced enhancements to its connected TV devices, Amazon has offered up its own improvements to its new Fire TV and Fire TV stick. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Apparently, this was a very inspired move from the retailer, as right now, tablets with a price tag under $100 are one of the most important market. The voice remote also has a headphone jack so you can watch movies without disturbing others, if need be.
