Apple asserts dominance over Europe as Android’s hold begins to slip

Apple’s new iOS 9 new features can be a bit non- user friendly but once studied, can make the iPhone do more. Currently, there are no Apple apps for Android, unless you count Beats Music on a technicality. For end users, competition is always good as it leads to better products and lower prices.

Apple has yet to comment on the latest developments, but said in a statement in November: “Apple takes customer satisfaction extremely seriously, but the law does not provide a remedy when, as here, technology simply does not function as plaintiff subjectively believes it should”. In May 2013, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated in an audience Q&A session at the D11 conference, that the Cupertino-based company would “have no religious issue” with porting an Apple app from iOS to Android, “if we thought it made sense for us”. Ditto for giving users access to higher amounts of memory and more control over their handset’s system settings – something that has still yet to happen in iOS. In Japan, Apple also grew, by 2.7 points to 42.2 percent of sales, while Android fell to 54.4 percent from 59.6 a year ago.

“Although screen size has grown in importance as a purchase driver since the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, iOS buyers are generally driven by a wider list of factors, such as phone reliability and durability, as well as the quality of the materials”.

This is coupled with the risk that smartwatches and bigger phones will absorb a larger share of consumer disposable income and result in a trend similar to the PC market, where upgrade cycles have been further extended. “We decided to look into other topics that say something about our society and one of the topics we landed on was the hate-love relationship we have with Apple”.

Since the release of iOS 8 on September 17 last year, Apple has continued to update the figures for the rate of adoption of this version of its mobile operating system.

Germans seem highly enamoured with their Android phones, on the whole.
