Apple Watch sales may have fallen by 90 percent since launch
Sharp fall in Apple Watch sales? The online Apple Store ships Apple Watches with 5 to 7 days delivery timeframes. Unlike the iPhone, Apple didn’t even announce opening weekend sales when the Watch first launched. There was a nugget of truth behind Arends’ headline – a sales estimate from Slice Intelligence – but it was ripped out of context in order to mislead readers.
Slice Intelligence gathered its data from electronic receipts sent by Apple to consumers who have purchased the Apple Watch, MarketWatch reported.
THE APPLE WATCH has been described as a “flop” after selling a mere 20,000 units a week on average in the U.S, despite beating sales seen by rival wearables.
A highly publicized but unofficial sales analysis report shows that the Apple Watch is not doing so good in the market. Which is odd considering the company loves to boast about how many millions of its newest iPhones were sold over the first weekend of release. At 10,000 a day, three times There’s still plenty of room for sales to taper off while still being astronomically high in context.
Jeff Williams, the company’s senior vice president of operations, was a little more restrained, telling Re/Code that the Watch has sold “a lot, but not enough”. But if Slice Intelligence’s data is to be trust then it would confirm some of the skepticism voiced by Wall Street. It measures only US sales.
For the initial few months, Apple’s first wearable, the Apple Watch was selling pretty well according to reports.
According to the figures, two-thirds of the sales have been the cheapest Sport version (£299) of the Watch.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) ventured in the smartwatch market to tap new growth as demand softens and competition increases in the smartphone segment. It shipped 3.9 million devices internationally and is likely to increase that number in Q2, in part thanks to Jawbone dropping the ball on the UP3. Well the iPod is gone, and the same can’t be said with the Smart Watch, meaning that the music experience with an Apple Watch is quite dismal.

Investors and customers are accustomed to seeing Apple products sell quickly, and drop steadily.
The numbers from Slice are unofficial, but based on real data collected from users. There’s no doubt the United States will be the biggest market for the Watch but let’s be honest – for all we know, Tim Cook could be right on track internationally.
