Arsenal plan bid for Grzegorz Krychowiak?
According to The Daily Telegraph, Arsenal scouts were in attendance to watch the European super cup game between Sevilla and Barcelona yesterday.
Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.
The deal for Krychowiak would be the biggest transfer of the season should the Gunners get the deal done.
Grzegorz Krychowiak was named to the 2014-15 La Liga team of the season after Sevilla finished 5th on the La Liga table and secured a spot in the 2015-16 Champions League group stage.
Primarily operating as a defensive midfielder, Krychowiak specialises in breaking up the play, interceptions and protecting the back four.
The newspaper also says that the Gunners boss is eager to sign Krychowiak and that the player himself is interested in a move to the Premier League.
The Poland global has a 22 million pound buyout clause and Sevilla will be powerless if Arsenal agree to pay the release.
Wenger is a huge fan of the player and has been monitoring his progress over the past 18 months and has decided that he needs more ammunition in the middle, if they have to break their decade-long wait without a title.
The manager wants to make some serious additions to the squad following their opening day defeat against West Ham at the Emirates.
