In the first inning, Dylan Demers drew a bases-loaded walk and Jason Patalano, Jake Bender and Tommy Harper followed with RBI hits that produced four runs.
The Great Lakes team from Bowling Green, Ky. built a 7-0 lead then held on to outlast the Northwest team from Portland, Ore., highlighting Saturday’s second day of action at the Little League World Series.
The team from Kampala represents Uganda’s second appearance in the series.
Oregon will face the Dominican Republic in Consolation Game A at noon Monday.
In other losers’ bracket games Saturday, it was: Sydney 3, Santiago de los Caballero 0; and Taipei, Taiwan 16, White Rock, British Columbia 4 in four innings.
On Monday, Bowling Green will face the loser of Sunday night’s game between Taylors, South Carolina, and Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.
Wei Hung Chou hit a grand slam and had six RBIs, and Yen Cheng Yu had five strikeouts in two innings for the Asia-Pacific representatives.
Taiwan will play Monday against the loser of Sunday’s game between Uganda and Venezuela.
Missouri will take on Canada in Consolation Game B at 1 p.m. Tuesday, while Rhode Island will face the loser of Sunday’s Texas-California game at 8 p.m. Monday.
