Bangkok bombing: CCTV of suspects emerges
The chief suspect is “an unnamed male foreigner”, according to an arrest warrant issued Wednesday by a Thai court. Authorities appear to have few solid leads and have given confusing and sometimes contradictory statements on the investigation.
A Thai motorbike taxi driver who believes he picked up the suspect shortly after the blast said he did not seem to be Thai.
After being swarmed with police investigators on Tuesday, the shrine reopened to the public on Wednesday morning. 20 people, including many foreigners, were killed in the blast at Erawan shrine downtown Bangkok.
The police on Wednesday announced to offer a reward of 1 million baht (28,100 U.S. dollars) for information leading to the capture of the main suspect. She says the last human remains were only cleared from the site earlier on Wednesday.
“He didn’t do it alone for sure”, he said, referring to the main suspect.
And, he added, the suspects was part of a network. They also said the attack did not seem to be intended exclusively for Chinese tourists. The man – wearing a yellow T-shirt – places a backpack on a bench before leaving without it.

Sullivan says the prime minister called the attack “the worst ever in Thailand and has vowed to find those responsible”.
A day after the site reopenedc, Thais and foreign tourists are continuing to pray, light candles and laying flowers at the shrine. It is dedicated to the Hindu god Brahma, but is extremely popular among Thailand’s Buddhists as well as Chinese tourists.
Three days after the bombing, which killed 20, the motives remain unclear and there has been no claim of responsibility.
“He had white skin and must have been a European or have mixed blood, perhaps with Middle Eastern blood”, he said during a televised interview where he confirmed the issuance of a warrant against him.
The bombers could be murdered by the masterminds who hired them to set off explosives at the Erawan shrine and Sathorn pier, Gen Prayut was quoted by Bangkok Post as saying.
“It feels so weird to know that so many people have died here and so many have been injured and still laying, trying to fight for their lives”, Danish tourist Maja Brash said.
The two men left the shrine and were walking down a street when the device went off. They seemed to be spooked and jumped for cover, indicating they weren’t involved in the attack, the paper said, citing anonymous detectives.
