Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Split After 10 Years of Marriage

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced on Tuesday that they’re getting a divorce, and now everyone’s wondering, what was the reason behind the superstar couple’s decision to end their ten year marriage?

“Well, it is a way we talk privately about how committed we are to our marriage”, she said, adding, “I’m not sure why you had to share it live to a billion people“.

The magazine said the couple are divorcing after 10 years of marriage.

The duo often enjoyed family time together at home in Los Angeles where they were frequently spotted on carpool, coffee and after-school activity outings with their brood. However, Ben is reportedly set to construct his own “man cave” so he and Jennifer can have separate residences.

An insider told Radar that Garner wanted to fight for full custody of their children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6 and Samuel, 2. They have also been in a trial separation for 10 months, during which time the 42-year-old actor has been staying at hotels. Multiple outlets claim to know the reasoning behind their split, reporting Affleck is battling a gambling addiction and drinking problem which drove a wedge between him and his wife. After months of keeping a united public front that all is well between them, actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have finally confirmed rumors that their relationship has hit a snag.

Affleck, who won best screenplay Oscar for 1997’s ‘Good Will Hunting’ and best picture Academy Award for ‘Argo’ in 2013, stars as Batman in the upcoming ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ movie. Their relationship lasted only two years from 2002-2004.

And the ex- couple are said to be united in the fact that they want to make the break up as easy to handle as possible for their offspring. When they started dating, Affleck was fresh off the demise of Bennifer, the name given to his pairing with previous girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and their box-office bombs, “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl”. “But we’re definitely in a very mindful place where we’re making an effort to be together, do things at the same time and be loving”.

When the media asked Garner about Affleck’s comment, she said that she knew Affleck meant it as a compliment.
