Ben Carson: US shouldn’t elect a Muslim president

The comments are sure to further inflame controversy sparked by Trump last week when he declined to correct a questioner at a New Hampshire town hall who denounced Muslims as a “problem” in the USA and asserted both the President follows the religion and wasn’t born in the U.S.

“I think they’re great people”, Trump said after delivering a lecture to high school students in Urbandale, Iowa.

Donald Trump refused to back down for letting comments slide about Muslims in America, including that President Obama was not born in the country and is of the Islamic faith. And by the way, they say there’s a problem with certain militants that obviously you report on every night on your newscasts. “You know, a lot of people are saying that, and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there”, Trump responded. Meanwhile, when Trump previously appeared on “Meet the Press“, he deflected a question about the possibility of a Muslim becoming president by answering: “Would I be comfortable?”

Tapper continued questioning Trump about the fact that Trump did not interrupt the gentleman who said, our President is a Muslim.

He listed some topics he would prefer talking about and called the birth-certificate question “a long, complex subject that I just don’t like talking about and I won’t talk about it”.

“Look, he said mostly about Obama, that whole question – I don’t have to defend President Obama. I don’t think so!”
