Bernie Sanders Live-Tweets GOP Debate, Gets Bored With It
Bernie Sanders, a candidate for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, says the federal government should get out of the way of states that want to legalize marijuana.
Sanders had previewed some of those provisions in a statement last week.
Yet here was Senator Bernie Sanders addressing the students at Liberty University – and yes, I’ve spoken there – fresh off his filibuster vote to block the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iranian deal, from being brought to the Senate floor.
In his speech, Sanders attempted to compare his liberal political philosophy to the wisdom of the Bible. “If it is Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders, they are going to pick people that we will disagree with all the time”.
Higgins was in Springfield this spring to meet with staff members of U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, D-Springfield, seeking his support for a tax on Wall Street financial transactions popularly known as the “Robin Hood” tax.
He covered many issues, ranging from women’s pay equity to police reform, but the bulk of the 90-minute rally focused on income inequality, Citizens United, the minimum wage and unemployment. I think many of them are saying yes. “Moral issues is also the state of our planet and climate change”. Sanders has said, “This campaign is not only about me, it is most of all about you”.
Rather than cost us more as a society, this proposal would only shift spending from businesses and households to the federal government by replacing our current patchwork system of public and private insurance with a single, more efficient system of financing. The United States is losing its standing in the world while politicians bicker. Really? You apparently don’t know the American people. The Democrats lost because a lot of their supporters are demoralized. It is to share your bread with the hungry, and to take the wretched poor into your home; when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to ignore your own kin.
Indicative of the level of enthusiasm for Sanders amongst this demographic, an FSU-based group in support of the senator called Noles Want Bernie was started this summer. “I quit watching after two hours, all the energy was drained from my body”. As a result, I think it’s worth taking a look at how he aims to return America to greatness. For many Liberty University students, Christian students, that sentiment will resonate because that is the core of Jesus’ message.
