BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha meets Nitish Kumar, calls him ‘guardian of Bihar’
He said the RJD stood for “roz jungle raj ka darr” and added that there’s something wrong with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s “political DNA” which led him to abandon friends, namely the BJP. Kumar said that due to good electricity supply, people watched PM Modi’s speeches on TV across villages and voted in his favor in the elections.
Launching the NDA’s poll campaign in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said at an event in Patna that he will “go beyond” what he promised on allocation of funds for the state.
Hours after he praised Nitish Kumar for his various requests and suggestions related to the development of Bihar, Modi did a u-turn, hitting out at the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader for the state’s backwardness and his “betrayals”. “This election is to get rid of RJD”. Unlike in the Delhi polls, where the saffron party had declared Kiran Bedi as the CM candidate, apparently to create a buffer between Arvind Kejriwal and Narendra Modi; BJP does not need any such cushion in Bihar where the party seems confident of repeating its 2014 feat.
Nitish Kumar said earlier senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said casteism was in the DNA of Bihar. “I promise I will fulfil the dreams of the people in 60 months if the BJP is voted to power“.
“With 14th Finance Commission report and withdrawal of BRGF (Backward Regional Grant Fund), Bihar to lose Rs 50,000 crore in five years”.
“I would like to point out to BJP leaders that they have no knowledge of Bihar’s DNA”. He also took account of the humiliation that Shri George Fernandes, Shri Sushil Modi and Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi had to face in the past.
Modi did not take Lalu Prasad’s name but made references to the railway minister then. “The development of Bihar is our Prime Agenda, development of eastern India is our mission”, the Prime Minister said.
He also launched and laid the foundation stone for Incubation Centre for Medical Electronics, Patna; and inaugurated the construction of the first phase of the Jagdishpur-Haldia pipeline project.
We can not leave Bihar in the hands of such elements. We continually maintain assembly one another. It is a strategy to divide us.
“I was hurt when he withdrew his support. But it will never succeed”.
