Caitlyn Jenner’s Conservative Views Create Tension In ‘I Am Cait’ Teaser
“She has told us we are allowed to call her any name we want to”.
The Kardashian girls have all been in their own headlines recently for various reasons; Kim is now pregnant with her second child, Khloe is showing off a new slim, toned figure after dealing with a hard divorce, and Kourtney recently split from her longtime beau and father of her children, Scott Disick.
It followed Jenner, who was formerly publicly known as Bruce, as she prepared to reveal her transition to the world.
An especially poignant moment came when her mum Esther spoke of how proud she is of Caitlyn.
GLAAD and other LGBQT advocacy groups have warned that it can be considered disrespectful to call transgender people by their original name over their chosen one. The Kardashian/Jenner clan is nothing but happy for her, but Khloe does admit that it was hard for them in the beginning. However, she says it’s not always as easy as she makes it appear; transitioning in a very public way comes with its own set of challenges, one of which being the fact that it’s hard to change everything at once. “That’s not really the normal way to go about it”, Khloe said. For us, we were trying to be really open and raw with it, I think. “We all got through it and that’s completely over, it’s all behind us now”. Kris has kept relatively still about Caityn, as Gossip Cop noted earlier, except for deciding on few minimal responses about her. Still, we’re informed Kris and Caitlyn saw a few days ago in to suave everything out in between. But there was definitely a moment that was really tough for us all. “This is something she’s going to have to understand”.
“But not to get political, I’ve just never been a big fan – I’m kind of more on the conservative side”, she said. “Cait is thrilled to be on a road trip with a group of her new transgender friends, but they question if her privileged status hinders her from becoming their spokesperson”.
“It’s a lovely thing that she transitioned”, Khloe said.
