Caitlyn Jenner Tells Ellen DeGeneres She’s ‘OK’ With Gay Marriage
In a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the former Olympian revealed that she used to be against gay marriage but has since changed her stance. I’ve kind of passed that stage in my life. “Now is the time”, she concludes, to have made it all happen. “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airs at 3 p.m. weekdays on WESH-Channel 2.
CAITLYN Jenner says she now supports gay marriage despite admitting she was initially opposed to it.
“I mean I thought I’m a traditionalist, I’m older than most people in the audience”. She continued, “That’s not my job”. We pretty much fell in love with her the second we saw her on the Diane Sawyer special and she just keeps getting cuter.
“I’m sure I will at some point”.
“I love her”, Esther said.
“I still feel like, ‘yeah I’m okay with that, ‘” Jenner says, “cause I don’t wanna stand in front of somebody’s happiness”.
“Everybody wants to have a partner”.
The onetime couple have six children together, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Rob, Kendall and Kylie, all of whom have previously expressed major difficulty in coming to now know Bruce as Caitlyn.
In the above clip, Ellen grills Jenner about her staunchly conservative viewpoints, and how she can stand by a party that actively campaigns against issues that are important to her, both as a woman and a trans person.
Kris said: “You’re sensitive and wonderful to all these new people in your life, you’re just not so sensitive and unbelievable to the family that you left behind”.
“I mean I like tradition and it’s always been between a man and a woman and I’m thinking I don’t quite get it”, she explained of marriage, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Karen added: “Kris and Bruce had the happiest marriage, I still remember their wedding day”.
Sitting at a restaurant, surrounded by such a group of eclectic women, Esther realizes that while she has come a long way since Caitlyn first made her debut on Vanity Fair, she still has a ways to go.
