Carly Fiorina’s debate win propels her into second place behind Donald Trump
The Republican presidential candidates during last week’s debate.
Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Fiorina have been brutal, berating her business success, electoral competency, and even the way her voice sounds, according to Business Insider.
“It’s a badge of courage”, Trump said of all the added attention. “He’s number 11”. She easily vaulted over retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who seems to do well in retail politics but comes across in debates as extremely mild-mannered and reasonable, not a great approach in the reality-TV cauldron of the 2016 GOP presidential race.
Interruptions were common and polite debate soon turned into fiery argument. More importantly, it’s allowed the first polling numbers to come in, and the landscape beneath Mount Trump has shifted, though the man remains on top. The GOP frontrunner talked time and again about his plans to build a wall along the USA border with Mexico to keep illegal immigrants out.
The only female Republican candidate provided some of the biggest moments of the night. California GOP members voted Sunday to distance themselves from Trump’s stances. The senator is a strict constitutionalist and said the 14th Amendment was never meant to allow for the current birthright policy.
According to CNN, Russian Federation is sending troops into Syria to support the government in a three-way war with rebels and the Islamic State.
“The push to secure a high-dollar penalty, along with a guilty plea from BNP, stems in part from what prosecutors viewed as the bank’s longtime flouting of USA economic sanctions against Iran, Sudan and other countries, the people said“.
“We are engaged in further conversation about answering those questions and about de-conflicting the Russian activities from ours”, said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
Of course, though he lost a little support, Trump is still leading in the polls.
“Three years after – in fact, the SEC investigation proved that neither I nor anyone else in management knew about it and the facts of the matter were the European subsidiary apparently was doing business with another company in the Middle East”, Fiorina said.
But Carson wasn’t the only White House hopeful with harsh words for Muslims last week.
Trump may feel confident tackling some of America’s growing threats, but he is not the only one. Marco Rubio of Florida who placed fourth with 11 percent support from Republican voters-a considerable improvement from his 3 percent in a previous poll. “So I don’t see it as being something that’s going to last because her performance has been bad “, he said of her candidacy on Fox. In that survey, Trump garnered 24 percent support, down 8 points from earlier in September.
The same survey also showed a new potential challenger for Trump as Republican presidential front-runner: former Hewlett-Packard chief executive officer Carly Fiorina.
