Carly Fiorina Swears She’ll Defund Planned Parenthood For ‘Harvesting Fetus
Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina forcefully dismissed charges that the controversial Planned Parenthood video she described during Wednesday’s GOP primary debate does not exist, earning several standing ovations at a presidential forum here in Greenville as she tore into President Obama and Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton for supporting the organization.
“It’s still different for women“, she said.
Republicans will now take notice of her. They’ll want to marshal her skills and notoriety to their goals, one of which is to keep Hillary Clinton at bay. “I think that’s really important”, she says.
Would you be a better president than your husband? “It’s a long time to be debating, but I think it’s even worse for people that have to sit”.
Trump also said other candidates suggested to him after the debate that they might need to hit Trump to get more attention.
Copeland thought Ohio Gov. John Kasich lost some steam during the debate, though she is still considering Kasich as a potential choice. Following back-and-forths among the candidates on the stage regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement and whether defunding Planned Parenthood was worth shutting down the government, Fiorina decided that she “would like to link the issues”.
Trump didn’t seem to have been missed, though.
On foreign policy, after detailing her plan to side with Israel and stand up to Iran through threats of military action and financial sanctions, Ms Fiorina was met with rousing cheers from the crowd.
But Fiorina’s mission to reshape her business image is colliding with a painful new chapter for the computer maker: Hewlett-Packard announced last week that it would slash as many as 30,000 jobs as part of a restructuring that will divide the tech behemoth into two publicly traded companies, which Fiorina’s detractors view as a repudiation of her legacy.
I mean, they will claim somebody watched it for them. “In our daughter’s case, she simply did not have the physical strength to go on”.
Trump had subsequently argued that he was talking about Fiorina’s “persona” rather than her appearance. “I’ve seen the footage“.
“When you look at Trump, I built an unbelievable company”, he said. “For me, that look is fuel”. Trump, Bernie Sanders, and now Carly Fiorina are showing that there is hope for people who don’t walk the safe and narrow route can reach the spotlight and upend the status quo.
Boxer told the Times she was shocked when Fiorina announced her bid for the White House. “And I think it deserves not only our support, but the continuing funding from the federal government, so that these women and girls, who are seeking the kinds of services that are provided, will be able to achieve that”.
Conservatives in the arena also lavished applause on Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s line that Republicans ought to try nominating someone as committed to conservatism as Obama is to liberalism.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker issued responses explaining how they have personally defunded Planned Parenthood in their state.
