Chelsea Boss Says He Won’t Be Quitting
Jose Mourinho insisted last night that he would not quit Chelsea after the champions lost for the fourth time in the Premier League this season when Southampton beat them 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho expects to be sanctioned after criticising referee Robert Madley following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat, which left the Blues 16th in the Premier League with four losses in eight games.
John Terry says Chelsea’s underperforming players remain united behind manager Jose Mourinho.
“To be champions is very hard, but I’m more than convinced we can finish top four”.
“My team in this moment, the first negative thing that happens, the team collapses”.
But the Portuguese also fielded questions over his decision making – in particular the move to take Nemanja Matic off in the second half, despite the player only entering the field at the break. I don’t think the owner needs a word, not even the club, the board, nobody.
“Leaving the worst period of my career, the worst results of my career, doing that as a professional hurts me a lot”.
“I think the players should and other people in the club who should assume their responsibilities, and to stick together and this is what I want”.
The Northern Ireland midfielder said on saintsfc.co.uk: “I thought I’d save the goal for a good occasion”.
Not to mention, Chelsea has a knack for sending their on-the-rise young players out on loan, as well as playing with small squads thereby reducing the depth of team, and Chelsea fans are clamoring for changes. The difference was how we came out of the dressing room, pressed Chelsea and had fantastic movement.
And the Blues manager, who declared himself the best boss in Chelsea’s history, explained how the west London club can salvage their season after a horror start.
Coming from an altogether different stock I have witnessed the pain and suffering of seeing Chelsea get relegated from the top flight and nearly slip out of the old second division (now called the Championship).
“I live a situation where I know a player is good and I trust the player”, Mourinho told reporters.
So you are always punished, we are punished because Diego Costa is suspended with images, in other matches we see the same thing and it doesn’t happen.
“I want the best for my club, and the best for my club is for me to stay”.
“It was a great performance and a deserved three points”, he added.
“We love the game for the strong passions but when that tips over into abusing somebody, ridiculing them, referencing them as a “secretary”, I do not believe that’s acceptable”.
There were few signs Chelsea FC are ready to return to the form that saw them cruise to last season’s title and the growing discontent around the club was apparent when home supporters greeted the final whistle with a chorus of boos.
