Closest Look At Microsoft’s Upcoming Flagship Appear In New Leak
A new leak claims the two devices codenamed Cityman and Talkman are the official press render for the hotly anticipated Lumia devices that would push Windows 10 Mobile to levels never seen before in the mobile community.
The larger, 950 XL or Cityman, will come with a 5.7-inch display, and nearly a similar set of specs. Talking about the Lumia 950 first, it has been previously codenamed Talkman and is said to feature a 5.2-inch WQHD (1440×2560) OLED display with matte white or black polycarbonate body. While the two phones have slightly different button and camera configurations, they both appear to have dedicated camera buttons, as with previous Microsoft Lumia phones.
It doesn’t seem like Microsoft is shaking things up on this front, so we’ll likely see the company pitch Continuum, Windows Hello, camera quality, and deep hooks into Windows 10 as the big selling points.
What’s more interesting is that, this time, the phone is plugged into a Continuum adapter, which allows users with a Windows 10 PC to simply start working on their phones, using apps installed on the device, with a mouse and keyboard by simply connecting it to the computer.
Inside – Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor. The Cityman is expected to be called the Lumia 950 XL when it goes on sale, while the Talkman will be named Lumia 950.
Both devices will have 3GB of RAM, 32GB hard drive, 20-megapixel PureView rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and a slot for a microSD card. It should pack a 3,000mAh removable battery with Qi wireless charging with flip cover, and a USB Type-C port. Though ZTE has already introduced the iris scanner, it is still not a commonly found feature and could turn out to become a USP of the device.
The Lumia 950 and 950 XL (also referred to as Lumia 940 and 940 XL) are the upcoming flagships from Microsoft.
Last month, DigiTimes quoted sources at a Taiwan handset supply chain saying that Microsoft’s focus on entry-level and mid-level smartphones has been its Achilles heel over the last two years.
