“Our focus is on the family of the victims and they deserve to know the answers”.
Harper-Mercer was a student at Umpqua and was enrolled in English and theater classes, said Rita Cavin, interim president of the school.
At a few point, Harper-Mercer, who identified himself as “mixed race” on a social networking site, appeared to have been sympathetic to the Irish Republican Army, a militant group that waged a violent campaign to drive the British from Northern Ireland. Randy Scroggins said the envelope contained a flash drive. Nine other people died, ranging in age from 18 to 67 years old – eight students and one professor. “But we’re not alone in this”, he said. “About 45 seconds later we hear boom, boom, boom, boom, boom”. They locked the building, gathered about 40 students from the surrounding classrooms and huddled with them in a small hallway with no outside-facing windows.
Oregon’s top federal prosecutor said the shooter used a handgun when he opened fire on classmates and had stashed a rifle in another room but did not fire it. He killed my teacher! He killed my teacher! “That’s why I thought there was something – something was up”, she said. Harper-Mercer then said, “You’re going to be meeting your maker”.

“He told him, “please don’t do this, it’s my son’s birthday today”, Mintz’s cousin Ariana Earnhardt told CNN. “I expect to be presented with the case early next week”, Wesenberg said.
“Then he shot and killed them”. Perhaps in a reference to the afterlife, he announced: “Don’t anybody worry”.
“We want to ensure we have all the information, all the leads, all the details of this horrific situation gathered”, Hanlin said.
Bush insisted, however, that his comments had “no connection” to the Oregon shooting.
His brother described him as a “real cool dude to hang out with, always brings a good time, a smile to your face”. “Rand was like, ‘Oh my goodness, ‘ and said ‘Thank you Lord!” “If it had rang, he would have been picked out”.
Schaan’s 16-year-old daughter, Cheyeanne Fitzgerald, survived the ordeal with a gunshot to her back, one of nine people wounded in the attack and one of three listed in critical condition. However, a law-enforcement official said a manifesto of several pages had been recovered.
Douglas County District Attorney Rick Wesenberg said that he will review the case when the police investigation is completed, which he said should be soon.
A timeline released by investigators shows that the first 911 call about the Thursday’s shooting came at 10:38 a.m. Two minutes after that, the gunman was down.
“Officers responded immediately… there was an exchange of gunfire, (and) the shooter was neutralized”, the sheriff said. I was so proud of you for getting you college completely paid through scholarships and you made it into college honors.
“I just saw her this week and she thanked me again and updated me on all her accomplishments”.
