Don’t blame Israel for opposing Iran deal
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of a fraud is “something that is meant to look like the real thing in order to trick people“.
-No American or Canadian inspectors will be allowed into Iran.
Two out of every three Americans, and 75 percent of Israelis, are opposed to the administration’s deal with Iran because it does not block the world’s No. 1 sponsor of terrorism from acquiring nuclear weapons. You do not have to be a brilliant military strategist to consider that the U.S. would hesitate to attack Iran if it possessed nuclear weapons.
On Friday, Israeli diplomats submitted their complaint to each of the countries that are party to the Iran nuclear deal: the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, China and Russian Federation. This is where many Americans stumble, because they do not want to look like they are cheap, nor do they want to insult the poor merchant. According to Iran’s state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, Dehqan told a gathering of worshippers in Tehran that none of Iran’s military ambitions would be slowed by the JCPOA or by any other agreement. Why do those secrets between Iran and the United Nations simply not invalidate this agreement?
Nadler, who’s the first Jewish lawmaker from New York to back the deal, received a lengthy personal letter from Obama earlier this week defending the deal and pledging that the U.S. will continue to put economic pressure on Iran and keep military options open.
“We have weighed the various implications of supporting-or opposing-this agreement”. How is that possible? In this respect, Israel is a far more traditional society, with most Israeli Jews leaning towards the Orthodox perspective, at least when it comes to marriage and conversion.
“The political consequences are concerning, but I had to” support the deal”, Nadler told Haaretz.
Why the five-to-one discrepancy? All the more so when some of its leaders are undeterred by mutual assured destruction and are even now reiterating their determination to wipe the “cancer” Israel off the face of the earth.
Iran’s intentions not only toward Israel but also toward all Western assets and interests in the region, were also telegraphed by Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan on Friday. Charles Schumer’s opposition to the deal.
White House spokesman Eric Schultz said the U.S.’s concerns with Iran does not end with the nuclear deal.
“Most hurtful is people asserting, shouting, that somehow I am anti-Israel”, he said. (Trust me – I’ve tried.) It’s too inconvenient for them, too disturbing to confront the reality they may have made a mistake in their support of Saint Obama.
The civil war is a mixed bag for an Israeli government which long enjoyed an uneasy truce with the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
“The seeming effort to make the [Iran nuclear agreement] the ultimate test of Congress’s commitment to Israel is probably unprecedented in the annals of relations between two vibrant democracies”, Brent Scowcroft, national security adviser to presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, wrote in a blunt opinion piece in The Washington Post on Sunday. Encouragingly, the fact that the festival backed down after a wave of protest, reinstating Matisyahu’s invitation, shows that there are many non-Jews coming around to a similar view. They have taken Augustine of Hippo’s “just war” theory and come to the conclusion that pretty much any reason can be used to justify a war. Obama’s hysteria even stunned some of his own Democratic supporters, who urged him to restrain himself and avoid using “anti-Jewish incitement” to promote his position. Instead, “The strong consensus that has emerged is that the best way we can serve the diverse Jewish community and Israel is by serving as a facilitator of community education”, she said. One presumes that most of these people also believe that pulling all our troops out of Iraq was good for America. Substituting the word “Zionist” for “Jew”, or consorting with active anti-Semites (and then distancing yourself from them only once these meetings become public knowledge), is a shabby trick, and we are smarter than that. That there is no historical basis for that belief does not disturb them.
