GAMESCOM: Crackdown 3 confirmed for 2016, will use the cloud
Earlier today, Microsoft announced the official title of Crackdown’s third installment and it is Crackdown 3.
No official release date for Crackdown 3 has been revealed. The big feature they touted, though, is something we’d seen tech demos of before – destruction. It’s a statement we can believe, too, as the game’s multiplayer portion will give players access to a cloud-based world where everything is destructible.
It’s tough to tell right now, though, how it’ll factor into single-player. It also helps that the game’s promise of multiplayer is something that seems to be unprecedented on this scale, so if it is pulled off?
Apparently, the Xbox Cloud solution that Microsoft will use for it offers developers the ability to deploy 20 times the power of the Xbox One, enhancing any element of their experiences that they want. The footage features a handful of additions, like transforming vehicles and mechsuits, but details remain sparse.
Crackdown 3 launches exclusively on Xbox One next year.
