Here’s what Google’s next big Android phones will be called
Google tends to avoid the release dates of other big names.
Since Google has sent invitations to the media for the upcoming unveil event on September 29, rumors are rife that new Google Nexus 2015 smartphones, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P will be unveiled on that day running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Also, it is believed that Google will release their new Nexus smartphone line on september 29 in San Francisco. And while its processor has been predicted to be either a Snapdragon 820 or 810, the general consensus is leaning on the latter.
Speculations are rife that the recent discount on the Nexus Player is an indication that Google is trying to finish the remaining stock of the device.
A report from earlier this month claimed the new Nexus 5X will be more expensive than the originalNexus 5. The 128GB model is said to cost around US$599 or more. Meanwhile, the LG will only have 16GB and 32GB models. While we see no reason for that trend to stop with this year’s Nexus 5, rumours are suggesting LG’s new entry won’t be the flagship powerhouse we expect. It’s a smaller phone, the display will be around 5.2 inches, powered by a 2700 mAh battery, will feature the Snapdragon 808, 3 GB RAM and will come in two variants 16 or 32 GB storage space. To confuse matters even more, an internal leaked document seen by GliStockisti claims only 2GB of RAM. Sources say that it will have a 5.2-inch LCD screen with a full HD 1080p resolution. We will be updating this feature with the official specs when and if these two devices appear.
The Nexus 6P has a larger, phablet display and is rumoured to have a premium all-metal case design.
Also coming to both Google handsets are a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port – innovations which both made an appearance on the OnePlus Two.
Every year Google releases a new Nexus smartphone. Android Marshmallow is the first version of the popular operating system to include first-party support for integrated fingerprint sensors.
However, according to the latest information from Best Buy, customers can still have the Nexus 6 for $350, which is a discount of up to $150. We are looking forward to the new Nexus smartphones, are you feeling the same way?
