‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ is scarily unfunny

I live with two roommates and one of them’s a realtor and the other one works for a charity and, like, a social media, so it’s equally as important because I’m able to recognize how people treat me differently than they treat my friends who aren’t famous… “I think it’s so hard, now more than ever…” In this mildly amusing sequel to 2012’s “Hotel Transylvania“, slacker human Jonathan (Andy Samberg) is marrying his vampire love, Mavis (Selena Gomez), bringing together a human and monster guest list that predictably results in silly, if not particularly laugh-aloud shenanigans.

Selena Gomez (Mavis) had her first solo album out with a second, “Revival“, due October 9; Kevin James has developed a Sandler-esque touch when it comes to low-scoring, high-earning comedies; Steve Buscemi was praised for “Boardwalk Empire” while finding time for AOL series “Park Bench” and a number of comedies; Molly Shannon added “Enlightened” and “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” to her achievements.

Also important for the star, who names actresses Meryl Streep and Rachel McAdams as women she looks up to, is embracing her heritage as a Mexican American.

Of reprising her role, Selena says, “I think, for me, it was a no-brainer”. Another montage later, and it’s almost little Dennis’s fifth birthday – will he be a monster like his mom, or just a human like his dad? The song was reportedly inspired by her tumultuous (allegedly) former relationship with Justin Bieber. In an all-new interview, she admits that she was “getting a lot of hate” for her body and “channeled that” into her new music. Her life making headlines is nearly daily. “I like to use my hands, my face. Now, I feel like I’m in the best place in my life growing up is hard”, she said. “We would go into the studio with people and producers and I would just start saying a bunch of things I was feeling”, she recalls. “It’s tradition”, she said.

Selena is now beginning to release music from her upcoming album, and has recently dropped another single entitled Same Old Love. “It has all the guys like Adam and Andy and David and for everyone else, it’s light hearted and it’s so amusing”, Gomez said.

Unfortunately, it seems these monsters have lost their mojo, tamed by the creature comforts at the hotel, softened by middle age and domesticity.
