Huckabee Supports Denying Abortion To 10-Year-Old Rape Victim
Huckabee’s campaign spokeswoman, Alice Stewart, said the presidential hopeful will depart on Tuesday for Israel but did not specify which officials he would meet with.

Huckabee was discussing a recent court ruling in Paraguay, where the country’s government refused to allow a now-11-year-old girl to have an abortion when she was impregnated after being raped by her father.
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told guest-host Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday that he wanted to “salute” Republican front-runner Donald Trump for his ability to dominate media coverage.
What the former governor does not admit in all his protestations is that the victims of rape and incest, feeling guilt those years later, do so primarily due to the stigma placed upon the victims’ acts via sociological and religious strictures.
“I think it is the most unsafe situation we face – not just for the Middle East, but for the rest of the world for a long time”, he said Sunday. A 10-year-old girl being raped is disgusting.
“Creating one problem that is awful – let nobody be misled, a 10-year-old girl being raped is frightful – but does it solve a problem by taking the life of an innocent child?”

“No, it isn’t easy, and I wouldn’t even pretend that it’s anything other than a awful tragedy”. Huckabee conceded that there are no easy answers here, and that he respects the opinions of others on the issue, but that he will not be having any shouting matches about it. “But let’s not compound the tragedy by taking yet another life”, said Mr. Huckabee, who also is running for the Republican presidential nomination.
