Hull land Hayden on loan
Arsenal look close to finalising a move to send young defensive midfielder Isaac Hayden out on loan to Hull City this summer, as reported by the Guardian. This news is being reported by Respected Journalist David Ornstein of BBC Sport.
While Akpom has shown promise in his U21 and preseason performances, he has been on loan three times already, with no goals to show from those experiences.
The 19-year-old has spent the pre-season with the Gunners, and had admitted that he was hoping to feature in the first team for Arsene Wenger this season.
The England U20 began his youth career at Brentwood Boys FC, before joining Southend United at the age of 9. Hopefully, Steve Bruce and Hull will give him the opportunity to shine.
Hayden is versatile player who has the ability to play in midfield and defence, therefore, given the number of options Wenger has at both the back and in the middle of the park, it’s unlikely at the 20-year-old will see any playing time in the campaign ahead.
Isaac Hayden has made just two appearances for the Arsenal first team in all competitions.
“It’s exactly what I need at this stage of my career”, Hayden told the club website.
Speaking to their official site, Hayden said, “I’m very pleased and very excited. I’m very excited for the season ahead”.
