I’ll Be President If Americans Think I’m ‘Huggable — CNN To Christie
Chris Christie (R) criticized Pope Francis Sunday for his efforts to patch up diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba.
The Vatican, in fact, did invite dissidents to see the pope, but they were arrested by Cuban security agents, according to published reports and social media posts by other dissidents on the island.
Officials said the Governor’s Order provides emergency management, law enforcement, county and local officials with the tools needed for a “secure and orderly visit of Pope Francis“, who is slated to be in Philadelphia on September 26 and 27.
Christie said at the CNN debate that he would make his Secret Service name “True Heart”.
“I just believe that when you have a government that is harboring fugitives … that this President could extend diplomatic relations with that country without getting her return… is outrageous”, Christie told host Jake Tapper.
“I just happen to disagree with the Pope on this one”, Christie said.
Part of Christie’s sentiment likely comes from the fact that Cuba is now harboring a woman who was convicted of the cold-blooded murder of a New Jersey State Trooper, but subsequently escaped prison and fled to the communist country. And that’s what the American people really want to hear from us on. The pontiff will begin his historic trip the USA on Tuesday. “It should be about the people out in the audience and about their problems and their concerns”.
