If you didn’t make the cut for debate, forget about being president
Republican presidential candidates, or at least many of them, gathered at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. on Monday night for a forum at which they were questioned one at a time. Instead, the South Carolina Republican will hone his debating expertise at an ancillary event earlier within the night with fewer candidates & a smaller audiences.
As expected, several new polls are out that will probably determine which candidates get to be in the 9 p.m. Fox News Republican presidential debate Thursday. Have the top five candidates in the polls in the first debate, have the next five in a second debate, and the remainders in a third debate.
“To see the notoriety and the anticipation of whose on the debate stage, I’ve never seen anything like it”, says Rob Frost, Chairman of the Republican Party in Cuyahoga County.
“I’ll invite Matt, we’ll have a great debate watch party up there, you’re welcome, all your friends”, Pepper told Borges in a joint interview with Ohio Public Radio and Television last week. If candidates want to be in the top tier, they should have to earn it in the polls. “Sen. Graham’s military and foreign policy experience and leadership make him uniquely prepared to win the happy hour debate and more important, be president of the United States”.
Another way is when candidates can spar and challenge each other. Just above him is New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, so Christie will probably be in the prime-time debate, too. A separate Quinnipiac poll showed more than half of the people surveyed had no opinion of Graham. Everyone can’t be President, everyone can’t be at debates.
