Inhofe: One Legislative Attempt to Defund Planned Parenthood is Not Enough
The first in a series of hearings about Planned Parenthood kicked off Wednesday in Capitol Hill, with Republicans and Democrats running in circles over whether or not the organization did anything wrong, failing to reach any common ground.
However, Democratic members of the House committee, defended Planned Parenthood, pointing out that the videos presented by the CMP were heavily edited, and branding the video makers “liars”.
“These hearings are not really hearings, they are political theater oriented toward taking away the right for women to access abortion in this country”, Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood, said in an interview.

The 42-member House Freedom Caucus this week officially declared that they will vote against any spending bill that contains funding for Planned Parenthood.
That name-drop was fuel to reignite pressure on the governor to investigate Planned Parenthood.
He said he supported calls to defund Planned Parenthood, but argued that Republicans would not be able to win the battle with a Democrat in the White House. Party leaders hope votes over Planned Parenthood can be isolated to separate bills not tied to financing the government.
