IPad Air 3 Release Date Specs Include Apple A9 Processor [RUMORS]

While a thinner form factor is certainly welcome, however, the big differences with the iPad mini 4 are likely to be internal improvements.

Leaked computer-aided design images from often reliable source OnLeaks indicate that the iPad mini 4 will be a svelte 6.1mm, just like the iPad Air 2. That would be a pretty substantial slim-down, considering the current third-gen iPad mini (above) is 7.5mm thick. In comparison, Apple’s iPad Mini 3 held the same specs as its predecessor – the iPad Mini 2 – with its A7 processor, 5MP camera and 1GB of RAM. Other rumored features of iPad Pro are A9 processor, Type-C USB port, and a special stylus, NFC, and Force Touch technology. The new iPad mini 4 will also inherit its larger cousin’s laminated display and antireflective coating. Apple could even roll out a new line of tablets including the iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro at the same event.

There is no word on when we can expect the next budget iPad, but some speculate it may arrive in September during the annual Apple iPhone event. Apple tends to unveil iPads in October, and it is highly unlikely the tech company will change the schedule any time soon. We should also point out that just a few months ago, Jony Ive explained that it’s Apple’s desire is always to make new generation products thinner than the previous version.
